Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Clip overlap

    Hi Folks.

I’m putting together a video from a bunch of clips. Somehow, while editing another part of the video, one clip managed to overlap another. (In the timeline, I can still see the lavendar-colored textbox I added to the overlapped clip, so I know the clip is there, “hiding” behind the other one.)

    Questions:

    1. How do I isolate and remove that overlapped clip (and its textbox)?

    and/or

    2. Can I just move that clip from its current hidden condition, and back to its rightful spot directly before the clip that overlapped it?

I’m new to FCP, so please forgive me if I’m not being clear. I’ll do my best to clarify for anyone willing to help.

Thanks very much, and please feel free to email me directly: rs******@***il.com

Sounds like the clip may have been overwritten. Try zooming in tight and see if you can grab it. If you can, adjust it to the length you want and re-position it.
