Clip doesn’t match other clips
I’m wondering if anyone has any tips on how to handle this situation.
We used three camcorders to shoot an event. Two of us capture the footage at full HD 1920×1080. The third, unfortunately, captured it at 960×540 and then deleted the original off the camera. When I tried to import the latter to the FCP timeline, it recommended using Media Manager to make those clips match.
I’ve never worked with Media Manager before. Is it worth the effort? Or will the footage look significantly worse than the other clips? Any tricks of the trade you can pass on?

LESSON…never just import the footage then delete the cards. That is like capturing footage off tape and then throwing the tape in the garbage. NO, like shooting, capturing, then reusing the tape. What happens if…well, what you did just happened? Then you have no way to fix it (well, not the best way). What if your hard drive with the footage DIES?! THen it is gone.
No…back up your cards…make a folder for each one then back them up, THEN import into FCP. Then you have your footage and your “tape” backup.
Don’t use Media Manager…use Compressor and the Advanced Conversion options…chose the one that matches the other footage.

Oh, I’m with you on that, Shane! I backup my backups. This was footage being contributed by three different people so it was just one of those things.
