  clip and sequence to multiclip

  I am trying to join two clips and then make a multiclip with another clip as well but when I nest the two clips that are back to back they make a sequence and the Make Multiclip under “Modify” stays greyed out. Is there a way to join the first two clips together without making it a nested sequence? Not sure what the deal is.
