My client has a DVD of their company, that they wish to have me re-edit. It’s a widescreen 16:9 video

When I convert it to Quicktime in Mpeg stream clip I have the option of exporting it as a 854 X 480 QT or keeping it at 720 X 480 QT, and using an anamorphic timeline to re-edit it in FCP.

At the end of the day, I need to make a new DVD that will play both at 16:9 and at letterbox for 4:3

Any suggestions on the best method of working with this file would be appreciated. Thank so much!

    agreed.
I pull in an MOV at 720×480. output is standard DVD widescreen. If you set it right in DVDSP it will letterbox by itself, which is really a function of the DVD player guided by the aspect ratio of the monitor attached to it.

Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.
