client proof with overlays
I am sorry in advance if there is an easy answer to this question, but I have just made the switch over to FCP. I have a bunch of clips that were shot on XDCAM, near 100 total. The client has lost the log with the clip numbers they wish to use. I am on the east coast while they are out west. I want to know if there is a way I can put the clips on the timeline and export one file to view with a overlay with the each clip name? Some of the timecode repeats, so doing burn in timecode windows will not help. As a last resort I could always just create a overlay myself, but time is an issue and there are a lot of clips.

You use a text generator to overlay the clip name. If you need to automate the process, take a look at Traffic from XMedit.

Thanks that is exactly what I was looking for. I did not wnat to have to create all of the text files.
