Hi Awesome people of the COW

A client brought in a firestore with some mxf fils in it, I beleive originated from a Panasonic P2 Camera. I cant read the file, I guess I need to install some codecs. Which ones do I need and where can I get them, for free 🙂

    Thank you very much

What firestore? FS100 most likely it is DVCProHD (or DVCPro50 or DV)

If your editing software doesn’t enclude them the codec needs to be purchased.

You really need to give us all the information, Camera, FS, editing software.

    Using FCP? Watch this…

    P2 Workflow with FCP 6

Using Avid? If so, what version? Avid edits MXF natively, but how it imports depends on the version you have.

    Premiere?

If you are new to P2 workflow, definitely watch Shane’s video. It was a big help to me, thanks Shane!
