    Hi,
I have a client that I edit interviews for, the volume of the interviewee is fine but the interviewer’s mic keeps dipping out really quiet then growing back to normal volume and dipping out again. They’re not too techy so they just record it straight from their pc into 1 mp3 file. So far I’ve just been cutting every time she speaks and adjusting the volume up and down but the vid is 30 minutes long, does anyone have a better way of fixing this?

    Thank you!

you could use an automated vocal plugin https://loudmax.blogspot.com/ or use Audition’s built in speech volume leveler under effects, compression.

you can clean up with a compressor to gradually respond. finalize with BS.1770 to smooth out the clips. maybe an EQ Match effect to make the mics have similar frequency response and some noise cleanup as well.
