I’m trying to go through the stills directory on my system to clear stills from old projects but when looking at the contents of the hidden folder there’s no clear way to see which project the stills refer to.
Even sorting by date doesn’t help since many folders have DPX files with wide ranging dates.
Does anyone know how to make sense of this?
    Thank you,

Why not try deleting the stills from the application inside the project?

I would want to be very careful in changing folder contents at the OS level when the project is still expecting paths and media pointers to be valid.

    I agree with you.
Speaking with Dwaine, that is his recommendation too. When you delete a still from within a project it deletes the DPX file from your storage, however it leaves the directory intact. Not a big deal.
The only pain with this system is that you need to load each project to delete its stills, and I have a lot of old projects…
It’s good to know though. I guess I’ll include this in my archiving protocol, to delete the stills for the job after I’ve exported a version for safe keeping.

My experience is that if you want to test the importance of anything, delete it. Your client will want it within 24 hours.
