cleaner 6.0.1 crazy error upon install
I’ve been getting this crazy error message that won’t allow me even to open the application (6.0.1). I downloaded original install from autodesk website and then tried their backup disk…still same error.
The error is actually showing pasted text of the clipboard (from an email that I was sending at the time of download).
I’ve tried reinstalling using discreet’s uninstall instructions. …throwing out prefernces, etc.
I can open it by selecting “open in classic” but it crashes after a few minutes?
I called apple to see if it was some kind of system error but they’d never heard of anything like it.
HELP? I need to use cleaner ASAP!

Have you tried the “latest” beta? IT was released over a year ago, but since development halted on Cleaner, its probably all we’ll get.

Your description is very cryptic to me, so if that doesn’t work, I would seriously look into a new compression app like Sorenson Squeeze 4.1 or Compression Master 3.1 from Popwire.

Yeah. Cleaner is explicitly NOT qualified to run under QuickTime 7, which means it is incompatible with 10.4.
Plus it’s a crufty, buggy mess these days, about two years out since that last meaningful patch. There hasn’t been any sign that Discreet has had a single engineer assigned to it since 2003.
