I have a few circle shapes evenly distributed in 3D space. I want to rotate them separately, but each cleanly on the z-axis. Right now I am trying to reposition my anchor points so the circles don’t move up and down as they rotate.

I know there is a simple solution for this, but for the life of me I can’t remember it! Any advice?

Double click the anchorpoint value, and set x and y to 50% of layer Size.
Should work unless the circles are not correct or are PSD footage without cropped layers.

Open each later indedently, use the Pan Behind tool, and move the anchor to the geometric centr of the object.

Thanks guys, this should have been a no brainer.

David’s method is the one I ultimately utilized as it was the most intuitive.

Filip, I think the method you described will yield the most accurate result, but how can you input new values for the anchor point without altering the layer’s position?

Get the anchor point right first since it won’t be animated, then adjust the position after that to get things the way you want ’em 🙂
