    Hi
We’ve set up a project using the BM 10bit easy setup. When doing a grade with the 3 way color corrector, we noticed a color shift after rendering out of graded clips. After much consternation, we found that the Apple Uncompressed 4:2:2 codec was to blame. When we chose BM10bit(DV10) as the compressor in sequence settings we had no further problems. At first I was reluctant to OK the use of the codec. The “DV” bit threw me. What is DV10? And why has there been no explanation upfront from BMD about it? I don’t know about anyone else, but the “DV” part is confusing. C’mon guys!
    What gives?

if i remember dv refers to the digital voodoo brand of capture cards. this makes it interchangeable with those systems. i’m pretty sure it is explained on the bmd site or documentation. also the new apple driver they just released is supposed to be more compatible with the apple 10 bit codec

Thanks Paul. I had a good look. There’s definitely nothing in the latest documentation. Also, if it IS on the site, they’ve put it some very obscure location, ‘cos i can’t find it.

    https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/detail.asp?techID=78

    check towards the bottom:

Blackmagic 8-bit (DV10) – this codec provides legacy support for 10-bit files in the Digital Voodoo format. This format is not compatible with v210 and should only be used when working with legacy media in this format.
