Circular Rotation FCP 7.0.3
been trying to get this circular rotation working.
had it applied to several assets recently.
I’m re-editting some stuff and reapplying this techique on other assets.
i followed this guy’s tutorial on youtube.
“Rotated Motion Path in Final Cut Pro” by John Lynnyoutube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=o4M6tUJtJHk#!
or, can be found under the same title at this website:
geniusdv.comi just cant seem to get it to work again. Its simple.
what i did:
1. Dropped the asset onto a timeline, inserted rotational keyframe at the beginning of the asset: “0” Then, another rotational keyframe at the end of the asset: “360”2. Next, I made a “nest.”
3. then moved the next to the right (for example) and apply -360.
I tried numerous times. The viewer shows a “slug” timeline, and NOT THE NEST.
I’m not understanding where I need to apply the “opposite 360” rotation. I tried on the Seq, but only a Slug timeline appears, I tried on the nest, and on the original/asset. (I presume, the original/ asset is not where you apply , in this case, -360.
When I applied it on the nest:
I get the circular motion, then the asset does not stay level.
OR
I can get the asset to rotate 360, but cannot get it the asset to move in the clock-like dial, instead, it stays stagnant “center 0/0”Thank you in Advance,
