What’s the easiest way to animate a circle being drawn by an invisible marker? I also need to animate a check mark being drawn (like a check mark on a corrected elementary school quiz). I have After Effects and Final Cut HD.

make a Solid layer
draw a mask using the pen tool for your check mark, or the circle default for your circle
apply the effect Stroke
play with the parameters, animating the In and Out (or Start and End, can’t remember which it is off the top of my head)
