  Cineon/DPX Toolkit v4.0 – beta testing on Avid..

  Hi Everyone,

  I have started working on bringing my QuickTime plugins over to Avid MC. So far, all of them work with Media Composer 6 on the Mac. (Windows versions *should* start showing up this summer.)

  For those of you that use a Mac, if you are interested in giving Cineon/DPX a try, let me know.
  The new release will have the following improvements:

  – Avid MC compatibility, using AMA
  – Renderless realtime playback
  – GPU Acceleration
  – Time Code support from metadata inside DPX headers.
  – 3DLUT support for those that wish to use a “Display LUT”.

  This package is still early-ish in its development cycle. I would not use it for production. (yet).

  The feedback that I am looking for, is some guidance on what features should be added, specifically for Avid MC users. With Final Cut Pro 7, I had a specific import plugin, which enabled Metadata support, as well as some file management massaging, to allow for interactivity with Apple’s Color application.

  In a nutshell, what can I add (as a specific AMA plugin) to improve the Cineon or DPX workflow for Avid Users.
