Hello there, I am working on a movie, shot on a 35mm, cinemascope 1:2,35.
The scanned images are in 1828×1556 resolution, with 1:2 pixel ratio.
It roughly is 1:2:35… Resolve sees it properly, and the preview looks fine.
    But,
We have to output it to DCP compliant scope image: 2048×858, square aspect ratio (1:1) any thoughts how can we accomplish it through Resolve? We had no luck using formats window.
    Thanks for the answers,
    Bojan

Can the DCI creation package do the reframe? Otherwise maybe After Effects or Shake, etc? That frame is the standard 2K squeezed scope size have you asked the people doing the compression if the DCI compressor does that?

Can you render it as square pixel and resize acordingly?

No, we are the ones that will do the encoding, and our system – Doremi Rapid, does not have any settings for resizing and reframing.
It needs the exact size as specified by DCI specs…

The question was, can the resizing be done in resolve?
We can do it in any compositing application, but we would like to skip one render phase – as we are talking about full feature length.

I’ve rendered out doing the resizing for DCP from Resolve successfully, however, my source was 1920 X 1080 2.40, in your case since it’s scope, I would try the four different scaling options you have in the Format – Output tab and render it square pixel.
I’m sure at some point I’m going to have to do this too.
