Cinema4D R19 not starting on Win 11 and Win 10/1909 – But it works on Win10/21H

October 28, 2022 at 10:22 amHi everyone,
I still use Cinema4DR19 and it wont start on Win 11, so I downgraded my new computer to Win10/v.1909.
The tipps I found, was that it is based on a Firewall Issue and you can simply make a Firewall rule to prevent Cinema4d using the internet. That works, but this also prevents using plugins like X-Particles oder Octane from working. (you can switch rule on/off but that only helps a short time)
The tipp says that it appears from Win 10/ 20H1 and ongoing.
BUT – I checked my old Computer and everything runs fine on Win10 / 21H1 (build 19043.2006)
I tried to copy paste my complete folder, but this didn´t do the trick – dirty I know.
Is there anyone that can help me on this ? Or any hint on Network Diagnostic to check what to do ?
best,
David

October 28, 2022 at 12:14 pmOh I forgot to mention – the downgraded Win 10/1909 doesn´t work on my new computer without the Firewall blocking. So that makes no sense to me.

March 15, 2023 at 12:52 pmIt’s possible that the system files and registry entries required for the new computer won’t be there if you copy and paste the entire folder from your previous machine. Just copying and pasting programs from one computer to another is typically not advised because it may result in compatibility problems and mistakes.
In conclusion, you might want to try contacting Cinema4D’s creator for more help or think about updating to a more recent version of the program that is compatible with Windows 11.

March 15, 2023 at 12:56 pmYou appear to be having problems with Windows 11 and Cinema4D R19 compatibility. Your problem seems to have been cured by downgrading your PC to Windows 10 version 1909, but blocking internet access for Cinema4D with a firewall rule is causing problems with plugins like X-Particles and Octane.
As a remedy, you said that creating a firewall rule to prevent Cinema4D from accessing the internet appears to be the cause of the problem. This workaround is not ideal, though, as it also renders plugins inoperable.
It’s probable that a software conflict or compatibility problem is the root of the problem with Cinema4D R19 and Windows 11. Perhaps you should consult the developer.
