Hello again, I’m using Cinema 4D R24 and Unity3D 2022, and I wanted to know if it’s possible to export a deformation [animation] of an object made in Cinema and send it to Unity3D in FBX format? … In other words, I’ve created an animation by deforming an object, and even though I’ve baked all the frames, Unity doesn’t recognize it as animation. I’ve tried exporting with PLA, but that didn’t work either. Is there any way to do this? Thanks a lot.

    Hi Mauricio,

Unity doesn’t read the deformation animation by default. The only deformer that work so far is Skin deformer with a bone structure. So unless your scene has bones, you won’t see any trace of the deformation in Unity , even if you use a baking plugin like NitroBake to make sure the keyframes are baked perfectly. You’ll still have to use bones to simulate the deformation you wanted or purchase an Unity plugin such as Megafiers to do it. I was wondering if it would be possible to exporting the deformation if we exported them via a third party program like Maya or Blender. I haven’t had a chance to try that yet, maybe you could give it a try.

    I hope this helps.

I have never used Maya or Blender, but I might try… once again, thank you for your help. A thousand blessings.
