So the telecine lab gave us 2 different flex files for each batch of dailies:

One File (Sound.fle) has Video reel numbers and sound roll numbers corresponding to individual Scene/Take files

The other file (Tape.flx) is logged bay lab roll with keycode and has Video Tape number and timecode.

Now we created a Cinema Tools Database and exported out batch capture list lased on the Sound file so we could have our individual scene and takes all properly organized. We batch reverse telecines to 23.98 clips re-linked and everything works great.

The other Flex files I simply imported into a seperate database. My thinking was the Tape numbers and timecodes would simply cross reference when it came to export a film cut list.

Now the problem comes. When I am trying to export a test film cut list I point to the proper database and a get a bunch of missing clips. I’m wondering if it’s because the clips in the tape database won’t re-link to the captured media because they were captured based on the scene/take Sound flex files.

    Sound confusing?

Found out that my assistant didn’t synchronize all my reels with Cinema Tools database.

    No problems now
