I don’t use Cinema 4D but have a query relating to video project we may need to visualise in a 3D animation sometime in the next few weeks.

My client make privacy screens for laptops – you know, the kind that only let the laptop image through when directly looked at. The rest of the time the filter will reflect a gold or crimson colour depending on the angle.

The client wants us to visualise a camera rotating around a number of laptops but this causes us a few visual headaches. The only way I can imagine we could make this work is to have three textures for the laptop screen – crimson, gold and animated video – and have a script which determines the opacity of each texture depending on the angle of the camera to the screen.

Is this possible? Does anyone knowhow to go about it?

    Thanks in advance
    Greg
