  • Cinema 4D render reverting back to old settings?

Posted by Chris Bryant on October 13, 2010 at 11:00 pm

I am working on a small project that involves candies falling from the sky. I’ve used one of Greyscalegorillas sets in his HDRI lighting kit. I am rendering a set of frames at a time, and the first 300 or so frames went fine.

After reviewing these sets, I wanted to make some changes to my emitter, basically just increasing the output of the candies. When rendering in the picture viewer it renders what the old settings were, I have checked to make sure that the emitter wasn’t set on some different settings that I might have key=framed and it reverted back to those. I am completely lost on why it is doing this, I did attempt to use the mograph cache tag earlier and ended up deleting it later to make changes. Could this be the issue?

    Thanks

    Just a side note:

Restarted both Cinema 4D and my computer.
Created new camera, new emitter, and even new particles(candies).
Saved as a different file and reopened in Cinema 4D.
I do not have access to another computer with 4D on it, to see if the issue follows me there.

    Thanks again!

You’re using a standard emitter? You realize that there are separate birth rate settings for the editor and renderer?

Yes, I am using a standard emitter. But I was unaware that there are different birthrate settings for the emitter and render. But I don’t know how these could have changed, it changed when I used a MoGraph Cache tag and then deleted it.

I’ve looked and it’s probably as clear as day, but I cannot find the different birthrate emitter settings.
