I’m having a massive problem exporting an objects rotation values to After effects using the external compositing tag , it looks like the C4d H.P.B values aren’t being translated correctly to AE’s x.y.z values, the rotation is there, but in all the wrong ways. Any tips on correcting this, either in C4d or AE???

Maybe you are using some complex grouping/ parenting and C4D doesn’t handle it right. Anyway, the AE export is flakey in R10, that’s for sure, so it could just as well be part of that buggy behavior. Your only way out of it would probably be to explicitly convert coordinates with XPresso and then export after that.

ugh. Yeah. It’s flakey alright. After some experiments i figured out that the problems arise when you animate all rotation axes. So I simplified my animation to only rotate the object on one axis (there’s no parenting involved here, very simple). Horrible solution, but it’s all i have time for. Hope this is something they’re looking to fix, it’s got to be because of C4d’s weird h.p.b rotation system (?)

No, actually not. Works fine in previous versions even though C4D and AE use different roation orders. They really messed this one up, it’s as simple as that. It’s yet another simple example that they rushed things to get out R10 in time for their anniversary celebrations. A little more waiting and testing would certainly have doen no harm.
