Cineform video files issue – need advice
Hey guys,
i have a huge problem and i need a fix. So i have a client and he wants me to edit a bunch of videos using After Effects and Premiere but he said they were all encoded using Cineform.
When i try to play them using any media player on my PC i just have a black screen with some noise for e few seconds. The same thing when i import them in AE or PPRO.
So what can i do to be able to play the videos in my computer and also to actually be able to work with this kind of videos in After Effects and Premiere Pro?
I am on a PC, CS 5.5 suite, W7, 12RAM, Gforce GTX 275 if that helps.

Cineform is a proprietary codec, if you want to just view only the files then you need to go to their website, they have a free decoder to be able to playback the files.
However, if you want to transcode those files to another codec, you need to purchase a license for your computer/workstation to be able to use it. You can either transcode it to another container with a different compression or work with it natively.
