    Hi,

During my first project I converted my HD video avi files with cineform HDlink. The size of the converted files seemed smaller (from GB to MB) and editing with sony vegas went a lot smoother.

Now I’m converting the files of my second project. Same camera, same settings, same hd files. If I convert these with HDlink (same settings as before) the size of the files actually gets bigger??

That does not seem right. Anyone know where I could have messed up?
    Thank you

    I know what happened.
I have changed the cineform setting to Film scan (before that the setting was “high” in HDlink) in sony vegas. When I checked the prefs in HD link it seems like it took over that film scan setting.

The manual states that the film scan setting is best used when you are planning to use fx on your hd footage. I plan to use video fx on every clip in this project. I just ask myself if it is useful to convert to cineform intermediate with film scan setting if this makes
your files bigger or at least as big as the original.
