    Hi!

Did anyone else notice the significant Luminance-Shift using BMD-codecs ?

It isn’t technically a shift in the Blacmagic codec (they wouldn’t make such a big mistake!), but a small compatibility issue in the way images are decoded by Final Cut Pro. It was extensively discussed a couple of months ago, but as far as I know there isn’t a fix yet. It’s a signficant issue, but it wasn’t clear to me if the solution has to come from Blackmagic, Apple or both 🙂

I’m seeing the same problem in quicktime when I recode a BMD file to something else, be it animation or media100HD or cinewave.
    Not only in final cut.
