Reading the info copy on the Adobe web site leaves me without a clear answer to the subject question: does Premiere Elements support compositing images/clips, such as with chromakey transparency effects?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it does. The tools in the program are relatively basic, but are effective enough if you know how to use them. If you want more complex and sophisticated controls for compositing, you should be using After Effects.

Thanks, basic is just fine. Just want to be able to take a small clip shot with a black background, make that background transparent, and composite the clip over another bit of video, nothing more complex than that. Sounds like Elements is just what I need.
