Chroma Keyer
Posted by Nick Rico on January 14, 2009 at 7:00 pmI have a green screen wall. I am using the Chroma Keyer to change the green background to white however Vegas automatically changes it to black and I do not know how to change it?

January 14, 2009 at 8:50 pmIt sounds like the black is “nothingness”. In other words, it is showing you the track beneath your green screen track and there is no track so it shows nothing but black. Just place an event of Generated Media Solid Color White on the track below and it will show through white instead.

January 14, 2009 at 9:22 pmThanks!! It worked, however it feels like the 2nd video is on top of the original video. Is there a way to “mesh” them together somehow? Sorry for the amateur speak. If it’s a black background video it works OK, but if I were to put a white picture as the background, the video becomes faint on top of the white PNG

January 15, 2009 at 12:53 amI explain that in this thread: Problems with making picture’s white background transparent
Once you select the color to key out, you must adjust the Low threshold and High threshold to make a clean mask. Check the Show mask only checkbox to see just the mask and adjust the High and Low until the mask is completely black and white with no shares of gray. Then turn off Show mask only and you should have a much cleaner key and the video won’t be transparent.
