    I am working in FC 5. I load 2 clips into the project, one is a motion background, the other is a talking head video with a chroma key background. I have the talking head file on top. Here is the problem:

    When I go to the chroma key filter and try to drop out the blue screen color, the filter knocks out the blue in the video file in the video tab not the file in the canvas tab. Not sure what I am doing wrong here.

    Hopefully to make it more clear – it takes out the blue in the left window the viewer I think it is called and the canvas window, on the right never changes.

    Sounds like you’ve applied the filter to the clip in the viewer that you opened from the browser and not to the clip that’s in the timeline.
