Chroma footage with zooming in background help
I’m not the most advanced user of Vegas – I’m not sure if my question has a really basic answer or not.
I’ve previously worked with still chroma key footage and backgrounds, but am looking to add movement to get an effect similar to the clips with zoom on the front page movie of this site: https://virtualsetworks.com/
Any help or guidance on the best way to recreate or apply this kind of zooming in movement to my background and chroma footage would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There was a program called Ultra, made by Serious magic, bought by Adobe and released with the upper end bundles of CS3. That program did exactly what you see in that video, with some virtual sets that had zooming and panning without all the time consuming keyframing to keep the forground and background matching with their position. Unfortunatly Adobe discontinued it with CS4. It was one of the best keyers I’ve ever used. There is a good chromakey pluggin by “The Foundry”

It works with many NLE’s but not Vegas but is included with some later releases of After Effects. It works very well too. If you already have a good keyer, you can buy those virtual sets from Virtualsetworks and with some keyframing practice, get those results. Full body shots without shadows won’t look very convincing.

To add the motion that you see in those shots in Vegas Pro you would need to add a third track above the chroma key track and background track and then make those two tracks a compositing child of the new top track. Then use Parent Motion on the top track to control the zoom and pan of both child tracks simultaneously.
