I have movie studio, trying out 64 bit pro, but the eyedropper doesn’t work in pro for chroma key or secondary color correction–it will only let me pick one point. I had this problem with movie studio and turned aero off in Windows 7 and it works now, but doesn’t work in pro.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Kelden
PS Bonus question–also notice that my mpeg 2 renders are twice the size in pro (same frame rate/window size) any idea why?

Sony changed the eyedropper behaviour back in Pro 9 🙁
Use it like you used to. It will still function like it always did but you won’t see a rectangle.

As to your bonus question, a few folks on other forums have noticed this.
The only solution so far appears to be rendering again in the hopes that the file size will be correct.
Are you using a bitrate calculator to determine optimum encoding parameters?

Thanks for the eyedropper tip. It works, I think, but when I make my mask I still get a outline of a white box (from the edges of the inset track) around my actress, no matter how I adjust the settings. Any ideas?

Also, can it really be true that mpeg sizes simply doubled and there is nothing that can be done about it???

Here’s an excellent chroma key tutorial that should help.
Using Chroma Key and Chroma Blur in Sony Vegas

How long is the video you’re trying to render?
If it’s under 70 min. long, I use a custom CBR setting of 8,000,000
Anything longer and I use the settings as determined by the bitrate calculator found at https://www.johncline.com/bitcalc110.zip.
Take a look at my response in the https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/24/940935 thread for info on how to customize this calculator.

I got it working! I cut the bit rate down to 2mpbs. Didn’t seem to affect quality on 640 x 360

    Thanks for all your help!!!!
