I believe Aanarav has discussed this before in other forums, but I thought I would bring this subject back up to see if someone could shed some more light on it.

If you use the Levels effect on highly saturated shots, you may have noticed that it automatically clips the chroma levels back down to 100 IRE’s. Now, some of the things we shoot do have Chroma levels going up to 115-120. Some of the backlit background we use otherwise look washed out or dull. It is my understanding that 120 is the broadcast hard limit, so why is Premiere clipping it back down to 100 ?

BTW, I usually use Color Finesse to make fine level adjustments, but I now realize that the render time of CF vs PP 2 Levels is quite a bit longer.
