Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Choppy scrubs?

Why is it that 90% of the time- When I scrub through clips in the viewer or in the timeline it is not a nice smooth movement. It is very choppy as it skips through the footage. But-
Occasionally- it does scrub through the footage as if it’s a knife through butter.
It sometimes depends on the clips- certain clips scrub is nice others choppy.
Sometimes a relaunch helps- but not much.
    Why all the inconsistencies?

I would like to think it should always scrub through with ease.
    What could be causing this?
I use the same settings and set-up.
(XDCAM footage in a XDCAM timeline. G-tech espeed RAID )

My guess is that you have Snapping turned on when you have the “choppy” scrubs as this causes the playhead to snap to the end of each clip, and Snapping off when you have smooth scrubs.

    Thanks for the response but
    Nope. Tried it.
    Still very choppy scrub.
I also tried turning on and off the HG scrub setting and that changes nothing as well

Do you have this problem with codecs other than XDCAM? Also, how full is the G-Raid?
