Choppy Render Output
I’m using Premier Pro CS5.5. I’m using a Macbook Pro with :
2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2SDRAMI have put together a slideshow using photos that are animated by keyframe as well as a couple of compositions made in After Effects.
In Premier the animations look smooth.I rendered the video out using:
– Format: H.264
– Preset: HDTV 1080p 29.97
– NTSCWhen I viewed it in my Quicktime player the animations of the photos were choppy, but the compositions from After Effects rendered fine.
I opened a new Premier file and imported the video I had rendered to see if it was my Quicktime player causing the issue, but it appears choppy when viewed in Premier.What can I do to render a video with an aspect ratio of 1920 X 1080. The file format doesn’t matter. Would it work if I exported images and used another program to render.
I thought my computer would have the power to render out a slide show (I’ve exported lots of slideshows from iphoto in the past).

The render is fine.
Your hard drive is NOT faster enough to play back the file smoothly.
Is my guess.
What’s your data rate when rendering it out?
.h264/.mp4 is the way to go IMO.

I’d disagree, slightly. I think the processor isn’t up for the task more so than the hard drive. Dual-core Intels, in my experience, never did too well with HD h.264 video. We had that bottleneck when we jumped from DV to the 5D cameras years ago when it was still a hobby for us. Once we had quad-core machines, things became more stable.
I would just try playing the video on a more powerful machine. That’s your first step.
