  • Choppy Playback of T2i footage in Viewer

I have imported a bunch of T2i footage. When I try to play it in the viewer it is very choppy, and skips around. It is not as smooth as the JVC footage that I have also imported. How do I make this T2i footage smooth, so that I can edit it? Would I have to compress it? Is their an easy, fast way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Dan

FCP doesn’t work natively with the H.264 files the camera produces. You have to convert to ProRes. This is the typical workflow for tapeless..including Canon DSLR:

But with the T2i, you have to hack the Log and Transfer plugin, so you might prefer to use Compressor or Magic Bullet Grinder (HIGHLY recommeded) to convert the footage. But it must be converted to ProRes.
