I’m running fcp 7.0.1 on a MacBook Pro (10.5.8). It has been flawless for a long time. But lately the playback in fullscreen has been really choppy, and for some strange reason, when I pull the mouse down so the dock pops up, it runs smooth again.

    Any ideas??

First thing to do when FCP starts acting strangely is trash your prefs and repair permissions. Run Disk Warrior before repairing prefs if you have it.

Was it fine until you upgraded to 7.0.1? My fullscreen went all stuttery after that point, due to a bad file in the upgrade (according to others who solved it)… “DesktopVideoOut.component”.
