choppy final video
I just got Sony Vegas 8. I created a music video with clips from a tv show and when I was finished with the project I clicked Make Movie and let my computer work. About 15 minutes later the .avi file was done, but when i opened it in media player, the video was extremely choppy and slow. Did I do something wrong? Do I have to render the video first or something like that? Please help me out.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when you “Make Movie”, isn’t it supposed to create a DVD for you?
I use the full version of Vegas so I’m not familiar with some of Movie Studio’s terminology.
Also, is it possible your computer is underpowered and can’t play back DV-AVIs at full frame resolution? -
“Make Movie” can create several different kinds of output, including MPEG for DVD.
It’s entirely likely that the OP has chosen a template for which his computer is not optimized to play back.
