August 21, 2009 at 5:46 amYesterday and the day before I’ve been shooting 720p25 (PAL-land) with the default shutter speed.
The pictures looks great.
I think that to rise the shutter speed makes sense in situations where you need to push the zoom.
i don’t think you will do that in a chopper.

August 24, 2009 at 8:02 pmHey Dave, I’m not sure how much helicopter shooting you’ve done but I’ve posted some helpful hints from my heli-shoot experiences on https://www.digijunkie.com I’ve mostly shot 1080i (XDCAM) on a F330. Do you intend to over-crank for smoother playback? Good idea.

August 24, 2009 at 8:25 pmmy first time…I ended up shooting 1080/ 30 …yes slow it down in edit. but helo was really smooth, not much blade wash, had my feet on the skags…full open view…..very sweet. I also took my Manfrotto 503 head/ grip and used it as a poormans steady cam / stablizer. Worked pretty good. Had Saber gloves on, that helped, teather just in case, left head phones off most the time. We flew at 100- 300 feet made a few turns and such but all in all not real eventful. Got what I needed…or as I say shot what I needed and needed what I shot.
