  • Choosing outer profiles of graphics

I am a beginner in Adobe illustrator. I draw my 3D models in Sketchup and export the view as 2D graphic in pdf format. Then in Adobe Illustrator, I use either the lasso tool or manual click by click style and/or dragging my box selection method to select the outer lines of any 3D view and edit its lineweights to be thicker.

Is there a faster way to select outer edges of a 3D graphic? I have attached reference images (taken from books) to support my question. The doodle orange arrows are used by me to emphasize the outer lines
