  • Choke and invert a silhouette layer?

Posted by Eric Chard on June 19, 2015 at 9:10 pm

    Working towards a solution to a situation….

I’d like to use a layer as a silhouette layer, but with this proviso:
I’d like to choke the alpha of the silhouette, so it’s slightly smaller, and then
    Invert the alpha.

How would one go about that?

I’d choke the layer & precomp it. Place a solid below that chocked layer and set it’s track matte to “Alpha Inverted”. Then in the final comp use the precomp as the silhouette layer.
