Choice A or Choice B
I’m an editor, looking to hold review sessions on rough cuts with a producer in another state (no, not mentally). Heard of someone doing Choice B here – sounds complex, yet interesting. What are all your thoughts?
What’s more efficient:
A.) Compressing video and sending it over something like YouSendIt.com
B.) Setting up a webcam pointed at the TV monitor. (Or, rigging the edit system’s output to replace the webcam’s signal.)Looking for efficiency of time here, not quality. These are just rough cuts. Option B might be cool because I could talk to him/her during the screening process (Producer says “Hey, go back to that interview for a second”…)

I’ve heard of people getting GREAT success out of using iChat AV using FireWire input that’s the FireWire preview output of a NLE.
Better yet, you have two computers on your end, each of which is conferencing you, the other the NLE.
Need to be running Mac OS X 10.4 everywhere for that to work, of course.
