  • Chenging Multiple Title Clips Text Properties?

    Hi Gang!

So, a quick one. I was told in the 12th hour that I need to change the titles I have in my movie (and I have a LOT!) from a yellow text color to green.

They all are separate Title instances on the timeline.

I tried selecting them all in the timeline and changing the color, but only the first selected clip was altered.

    Is there something I’m missing?

    thanks!
    Gabi.

Not in the text editor, A work around would be to lay off your titles into a separate sequence and apply an adjustment layer to change the color and then nest the sequence back into the cut.

I’ve been asking for this sort of thing in FCP legacy for years. Finally implemented on FCP X. You can highlight all your titles and change their font, color, size, etc. you can also do a search and replace text function.

Very handy when something is misspelled in hundreds of captions!

Just making conversation. Still learning PPro and awaiting the new CC version before running through some real projects with it.

For conversations sake, One way to do this would be to create a master comp in AE with text attributes and the make pre comps for each text element and then use Dynamic Link to add those pre-comps to the PrPro Project. than if you need to change any of the global atributes you can update the Master comp in AE and it will procedurally change all of the elements.

    Good point Kris!

It might be overkill, but it sure comes in handy when the customer says that they want a different color text 🙂

    Thanks!
