  • Check disk message on IP-SAN volumes which are presented to windows

    Hi,

Our Windows/DOS server emits a Check Disk message for one of the IP-
SAN volumes which was presented from Stonefly ipsan and there are no
    error messages on Storage Concentrator.

we are getting this message on the one particular volume. will this
    cause any problem?

will it impact the production? is there any preventive actions to do
    to resolve the issue?

your suggestions on this highly appreciated.

    regards
    Edwards

A CHKDSK command may be used to restore the file system inside the IP-
SAN volume. The only concern might be a volume that is enabled for
Snapshots. If the CHKDSK command causes a large number of writes to
the file system tables this might artificially fill the snapspace for
the volume. The snapshots can be restarted or space can be freed up by
deleting most of the current snapshots or run the CHKDSK command and
let the Storage Concentrator delete the oldest snapshots to create
    space in the snapspace volume.

    please try this may work
