cheapest way of getting 24p HD component Preview on FCP
What is the cheapest way of getting 24p hd component Preview on FCP?
I just got myself a very cool SONY PVM-14L5/1 now i need a way to get video signal out of my Mac pro, I edit all the time at 24p. so non of the mxo or bmd intensity work, I have the geforce 8800 GT that supposedly has some kind of hd video output, I think with a dvi to component cable.
is this a real video signal? apple and nvidia are very vague about it, if it is does it do 24p?
if not what would be the cheapest way of getting this out of my box?
I never use decks and if I do Ill be working were they have kona cards,
I would like the simplest solution possiblethanks in advanced to everybody

You will need an HD capture card that has Component Output. AJA, BM and Matrox MXO Mini
Your graphics card will not display HD.

A Matrox or BMD will work fine. I have that monitor and have used it with a Decklink HD, AJA LH and Matrox MXO (and Kona 3), and I edit DVCPRO HD 23.98 (24p) all the time. Zero issues. A friend of mine uses a Decklink Extreme HD, and edits RED adn DVCPRO HD…zero issues.

Thank you Shane and Steve I appreciate your input, what is best to use Black magic Intensity pro, mini mxo2 or the DeckLink Studio?

Go to their respective websites and check out there technical specs to see which ones fits your specific needs. Do want to have the option of portability or self contained? It’s your decision.
