    Hey broadcasters!

We are looking for a cheap hardware chroma keyer, or a suggestion for an alternative solution.

We have a computer to generate real-time subtitles, 10 tv displays getting their source from 10 receivers. We need to display the subtitle on all 10 TVs, which display different video sources.

So rather than using 10 PCs with tv/video cards, we prefer using 10 chroma keyers and use the same subtitle source.

However, a few keyers I’ve found are >$1000. I don’t need studio quality, I don’t need key color selection, precision settings etc, just overlay the video on subtitle’s background for realtime information. It can be a chroma keyer, or something to split the screen from a set distance from the screen bottom for subtitles.

$500 is pricey in my opinion. A $40 dvd player can overlay a semi-transparent menu, in addition to all the other features and mechanical hardware it has.

    Any ideas?
