    [Karel Voners] “PCI-X or PCI-E, doesn’t matter I think.”

It does matter. This is pretty important. These are different connections. Are you running a G5, or a MacPro?

This card is cheaper than both the ones listed, and does what you need:

Although ProRes HQ for VHS? that’s overkill. The quality won’t improve at all over ProREs 422. Only increase you’ll see is file size.

I’m running hackintosh so I got PCI but no PCI-X. So it does matter like you say.

But the newer blackmagic solutions start at 200$, much more then the 90$ Blackmagic Decklink on ebay…

    Or am I missing something?

    Cheers!

    PCI? Not PCI-X nor PCIe?

Your gonna need a hackincard. I’ve never seen one.

If your computer has firewire, you can use a dv camcorder to capture to DV format.

Not really. My friend has a Hackintosh running a Decklink Extreme. Cut a doc feature with it.
