Charging clients for Time Code Burns
I know this isn’t an FCP specific question, however forum people here are familiar with the workflow for doing this on FCP, and frankly, FCP editors are the salt of the earth. That’s why I always go to them for advice..
So…
Do you charge by the hour of footage? By the hour of work?
I’ve got 9+ hours of footage for a client. I’m chunking it out to 45-60 minute quicktime clips with a TC window burned in, and posting it on my dropbox.
I’ve got a pretty good workflow for this now, however it can take me a few hours to set up, then several hours of my processing time, tying up my computer.
I’m thinking a flat rate per hour of footage. $25/hr?…. $35/hr?…. $50/hr?….. more? less?
What’s your best practice?
