Hi! This is my first post here, and I’m in need of some help.

I’m currently following a motion design course in uni and we have to create an animated short. I’m kinda stuck on how to continue.

My problem is that I have a character that’s floating through the sky and suddenly falls down, and then hits the ground, and I’m not sure how to animate it. I need some help to figure out what the best way is to create a smooth animation for this.

For reference I’ve included 2 of my storyboard drafts (not the final thing you’ll see in the animation, but so you’ll know what I’m talking about. I would really appreciate the help!

look at some tutorials on using the puppet tool and creating an ik (inverse kinematics) rig in after effects to see some techniques for doing character animations in ae.
