  • Chapter Markers to send to DVD Studio Pro

I’m new to the final cut studio (came from adobe’s suite), so please excuse my questions that may seem to have easy answers… I am using the latest Final Cut Studio.

I am sending a 4 hour live corporate event that we shot to DVD. There are about 15 differant segments. I will be sending the final show to 2 DVDs. I add markers in FCP at the start of each segment so that when I send the footage to be authored, the markers will already be there for easy navigation. Is there an easy way to do this? Will an m2v file hold markers? Do I have to dump a certain file type to maintain the markers? I will be using DVD studio pro.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you!

First, make sure they are Chapter markers. When you add a Marker to you timeline make sure you check the “Chapter Marker” button. Secondly, when you export the Final Cut Pro file as either a refrence file or stand alone make sure you select the “Markers/DVD Studio Pro” markers from the export window.

By the way. It took me minute to write out the explination of how to do this, but it only took 20 seconds to choose Help and type in Chapter Markers into the search field in the online manual.
