Changing timecode after project being graded
Hi Cows,
as a stupid being I imported an XML from FCP7.0 to Resolve Lite 9 and didn’t look at the preferences where I had to match the timecode with source files.
I looked over it, and started working on my project (music video with length 3min30). I’ve graded all my shots, exported FCP XML Rount-Trip, imported in FCP7 and then i realised there was something wrong…
Can I eventually change the timecode settings from 24FPS to 25FPS …
I’ve read before that I have to do it at the start of my project .. but yeah .. to late now.
Or is there an easy way to copy the grade settings + raw r3d settings to the new project?

Reading the manual would ease your mind 🙂
Just colortrace it all in from the other timeline.
If you have the same shots with no changes its a two click operation.
Manual mode will even help your with crazy last minute edit changes.A slice of color…

I’ll look it up in the manual. Does it also copy the r3d RAW settings?
But as far as changing the timecode settings when the project is finished: this isn’t possible?

You can change your timecode from 24fps to 25fps.
Step 1. Creata a new project DO NOT BRING ANY MEDIA IN.
Step 2. Go to Project Setting go to Master Project Settings change Playback framerate to 25 FPS. Also configure everything else the same as your music video project.
Step 3. Save these settings under presets, name it 25fps config or what ever.
Step 4. Load up your music video session.
Step 5. Go to Project Settings then Presets and load the 25fps config, it will prompt you with a message that says something like do you want to change say yes, accept, apply or what ever and you are done. Your timeline is now 25fps.I always recommend saving the session you want to change under a different name so you have a backup just in case something gets screwed up. But I promise you if you follow these steps it will work.

I’ll keep it in mind. For now I fixed the project using the colortrace method and manually entering my r3d raw data.
