  • Changing the length of the sequence

    Good afternoon all,

I’ve pressed into service editing some videos with Premier Pro CS 3. I’ve scoured the online docs and google and for how to change the default project/sequence length when starting a new project or editing an old one.

Currently when I start a new project the timeline goes from 0 to 13 min 39 seconds. For one project I know the clip I’m creating will be no longer then 10 seconds. How does one change the project setting so that the timeline will start at 0:0:0:0 and end at 0:0:10:0 ?

I’ve tried the Project Settings, Project Manager, Sequence Properties, etc. I believe I’m lacking the correct vocabulary here and thus not finding what I need.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The timeline is only as “long” as the end of the last clip.

In other words, the timeline does not have an intrinsic length.

If you cannot see the clip then it might be on a track above or below the timeline window. Scroll up and down to see obscured tracks.

    Cheers

    Hi,

I realise that the timeline length doesn’t really matter. But, it is annoying that the timeline is 1h long if you only need 1 minute. It’s a hassle to use the zoom bar etc… Isn’t there a way to make it shorter again?
