Is there an effect that will show a word and then it cascades down to form a new word. Kind of like the Raining Characters but it changes the word from one to another on screen. The words are both five letters in length.

    Thanks

I believe you will need to keyframe your Source Text property to achieve this.

Since it’s only five characters, it’s quite easy to do it one letter at a time. One text layer for each character, using Character Offset as the Animator property. Use Echo within an Adjustment Layer to achieve the Raining effect. Goto https://www.asciitable.com to check on the values you have to input for Character Offset. As a guide for reading the table, Zero is character value 48.

Keyframing Source Text will end up with a ‘flash’ frame when the Source Text value changes – not as elegant as it can be.

Thanks Roland that worked. I forget about the character offset because it isn’t a look I use much but it fit in this case.

    Thanks
